Changing a serious issue like aggression and reactivity towards people and dogs is not easy. Generally dog owners benefit from at least three private sessions with a professional to be sure that they have mastered the techniques. Once the three sessions are complete, dog owners are left to search out helper dogs or attempt behavior modification on the walk on their own until they have achieved the desired results. We have a cost effective solution! Our Growly Dog course provides ongoing support through structured sessions to expose your dog to others.   Once your dog has completed the group sessions we will finish off with a private lesson in your home/area to help you generalize to your own environment and come up with a plan to keep practicing with your dog.

Growly dog classes are geared specifically towards resolving reactivity (fear aggression) with three dogs maximum, two professional dog trainers, and specially trained calm dogs to begin exposure. All dogs are kept at a safe distance, behind tables while we slowly decrease the gap over the course of the 6 weeks. Once your dog has completed the 6 weeks of structured exposure to other dogs you will be ready to start behavior modification on the street with random encounters on walks. Random encounters are significantly more stressful than a structured exposure, therefore the 6 week course is a great way to start working with your dog. Week 1: Behaviour Modification theory for reactive dogs
Week 2-3 Working with reactive dogs
Week 4- Body Language Seminar (power point presentation)
Week 5-6 Working with Reactive Dogs
Private Consultation at Home to learn how to utilize the exercises in your own environment. (Private lessons are available on Saturday Afternoons or Daytime between 10-2:30pm)
