Gina Farrugia has been performing and teaching voice over the past 17 years. Her primary training was at University of Waterloo, where she earned a double major in music(voice) and arts administration. She has studied with David Falk at Wilfred Laurier’s Intensive Voice Program, acting for singers with Stratford Festival’s Leslie O’Dell, jazz improvisation with Michelle Weir and Steve Zegree and jazz pedagogy at Western Michigan University's Summer Intensive program with Diana Spradling. In addition to performing oratorio, recitals and concerts around Ontario, Gina spent two years singing and recording with a jazz quartet in Hamburg, Germany. Here in town, she appears regularly at Maggie’s Supper Club, Aeolian Hall, and Wolf Theatre. She also plays electro-violin with the band Superbeings and has played fiddle with the Shelley Rastin Band.

Gina is proud to have helped many students reach their dreams of scholarship voice programs at Western, MacMaster and Laurier universities and jazz and musical theatre programs at Humber and Sheridan colleges. She has presented vocal technique seminars for the Music Industry Arts department at Fanshawe College, adjudicated for festivals and competitions in Southwestern Ontario and has the pleasure of coaching many professional singer/songwriters with their recording projects and maintaining vocal health “on the road”.

Although she enjoys a lively singing career of her own, Gina’s greatest satisfaction comes from inspiring students of all ages and abilities to reach their own musical and creative goals.
